I've been sending pics from my iphone 3g to a Nextel cell phone...phone no. @messaging.nextel.com. I noticed recently that it showed as a sent msg on my computer from my Windows Live/hotmail account. It never did this before until now. Odd thing is I can delete on my Iphone but it doesn't come off my computer when I do this..I have to go in manually & delte it off in my computer..kind of a pain..,.My question is will they also receive it on their computer? Don't want it to go to their computer as it's more work for them to open up and delete off etc. Please advise...

MetroPCS doesn't say on its website, but it looks like one of these 2 addresses should work:

 10digitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
or 10digitphonenumber@metropcs.sms.us

I'll add a page with more information as soon as I can find out more!

I have nextel. I just tried my number@page.nextel.com and it worked. I received a Text message directly to my phone, no downloading, no Java.

You are 100% correct. There IS a difference between SMS and MMS. You used to be able to type your # @page.nextel.com - now it does not work....

This is not SMS. Using the @messaging.nextel.com sends a regular email or text message. SMS is something different and doesn't require the phone to go through the java net applications to read. If you want to learn more about this just ask. pyredude@alltel.net
